Morris + Blunt have a ‘can do’ approach to their construction projects, which make them a great company to work with. They worked with us throughout the build and their attention to Health & Safety and safeguarding was paramount. We were kept informed of the work schedule on a regular basis and the project manager was on site each day of the build. I worked with Morris + Blunt throughout the school’s large Expansion Project, together with an additional extension to our Conference Room (Morris + Blunt used because of Expansion Project experience). The core of the team from Morris + Blunt were very good to work with, excellent knowledge, good suppliers, good sub-contractors, flexible, and open to ideas for savings and realistic operational progress during and after the new build.
The ability to be able to contact several members of the team at any time was invaluable: their affable nature second to none, in my experience. The Expansion Project took place during the Pandemic, which caused a variety of extra issues; workforce, supplies, etc, but Morris + Blunt were exceptional at overcoming these difficulties. A very competent building contractor. Willing to go the extra mile to ensure contracts run smoothly and ensure client satisfaction. Quality and workmanship is always at a high level, with health and safety issues taken as a high priority. Communication is extremely good, which ensures personnel are fully informed and eliminates any confrontation.

This was an extension and redesign within a busy GP practice which had to remain open throughout the project. The team were always happy to discuss and accommodate changes where possible, working around the needs of my patients and my staff. Deborah and her team were a joy to work with. They listened to the needs of the students at the planning phase and were able to create a space that absolutely fitted their brief. The foreman always took the time to speak to the students about how the project was progressing; the effect on the students cannot be underestimated as they felt very much part of the build even though they were not allowed onto the site. The whole project from my point of view felt very collaborative. I was part of the discussions on layout, colour schemes etc which helped to ensure that the autistic students who would use the building would recognise it as a calm, safe space.
Any minor problems were sorted quickly and with the minimum of disruption which was deeply appreciated. It was lovely to have the team return for the official opening of the building to meet the students and staff and for the students to have the opportunity to say thank you for their new space.
The works were substantial and complicated by several logistical and accessibility challenges, but Morris + Blunt seemed to overcome all these obstacles with ease. Morris + Blunt hit the sweet spot in our choice for a building contractor. Not so large that we would be just another project, but large enough that they could demand excellent and reliable service from their own subcontractors. Communication throughout the project was excellent and highly professional.
The team we worked with were exceedingly competent and clearly set high standards for themselves and those working with them.
