Established in 1988
Established in 1988, Andrew Goodchild and Melvin Blunt partnered together to offer carpentry services & expertise throughout their local region of Berkshire; trading under the name – Morris & Blunt Carpentry Services.
As the business became successful & continued to grow, Andrew & Melvin started to expand the services offered ultimately evolving the partnership into Morris & Blunt Ltd (1995). A team of professional staff & tradesman was formed, sharing core skills within key areas of the construction industry – many of whom are still integral parts of the expanding team today.

Building for the future
In 2019, Daniel Hobson and Stephen Blunt took over as Managing Directors ensuring that ethos has continued today whilst expanding the business. Under the management of Daniel & Stephen, our portfolio grew from minor work projects for private residential clients, local Schools & authorities to complex capital projects all with a focus on our local community.
With working relationships that go back over 30 years we continue to build an enviable reputation as a construction company for providing quality workmanship, attention to detail with an enormous wealth of experience.
With a direct workforce of over 40+ people our team remain at the very centre of what we do.

1988
The beginning
Andrew Goodchild and Melvin Blunt partnered to create Morris & Blunt Carpentry Services, laying the foundation for what would become a trusted company within the industry.
1995
Incorporation and Expansion
Morris & Blunt Ltd was officially incorporated. A dedicated team of professional staff and tradesmen was formed, some of whom remain integral parts of our team to this day
1998
First Major Project
The company undertook its first extension project, showcasing our full range of building services and marking our entry into larger-scale construction from maintenance projects
2000
A New Home
We moved from our bespoke outbuilding in Mortimer to our historic and current location at Holmes Road, Reading. This site, previously a workshop space where Sir John Madejski established Autotrader, provided the room we needed to grow.
2019
New Leadership
Daniel Hobson and Stephen Blunt took over the business, ensuring steady growth and expanding our project portfolio. Under their leadership, we have undertaken a variety of exciting projects within the Thames Valley corridor, serving multiple sectors and a diverse client base.
