Vets Klinic

Conversion of an Industrial Unit into a bespoke veterinary practice.

Sector: Industrial & Commercial
Client: Pets Kitchen
Value range: £500k – £1m

Our team undertook a bespoke build project within the veterinary service industry, transforming an existing industrial unit into a cutting-edge veterinary clinic in Berkshire. This conversion project involved a range of specialized works to create a progressive and pioneering facility dedicated to the health and care of local pets and animals.

Scope of work

Drainage Works:
The project commenced with extensive drainage works, including cutting and excavating the existing structural slab to lay new drains. We collaborated with accredited subcontractors to ensure compliance with stringent gas membrane repair requirements.

Structural Steelwork & Glass Feature:
Bespoke structural steelwork was meticulously crafted to support the unique main feature—a curved glass viewing area in the clinic’s reception. Our team skilfully constructed curved walls to accommodate this striking architectural element.

Ceiling Structure & Services Installation:
Ceiling joists were installed to create voids for essential services such as air conditioning, ventilation ductwork, power, and fire cabling. Fire compartmentation curtains were integrated to meet building regulations.

Interior Cladding & Fit-Out:
Specialist plywood and plasterboards were used to clad walls, including lead-lined boarding for x-ray rooms. First fix electrical and mechanical installations were completed within constructed voids before plastering and final cladding.

Consulting & X-Ray Room Formation:
Lead-lined consulting and x-ray rooms were constructed, allowing for second fix carpentry, bespoke furniture fitting, and installation of hygienic wall cladding. A custom reception desk and veterinary benches were also fabricated.

Curved Glass Partition & Final Fit-Out:
A large, curved glass partition was installed, creating a striking focal point in the reception/waiting area. Final mechanical and electrical fixes, decoration, and floor finishes were completed alongside specialist fixture installation, including veterinary and medical equipment.

External Works & Completion:
External works included building a bike store and erecting signage. Following comprehensive testing and commissioning, the project was successfully handed over in January 2023, culminating in a memorable grand opening event.

Our expertise in commercial health sector projects enabled us to deliver a state-of-the-art veterinary clinic that combines functionality, innovation, and exceptional design. It was an honour to witness the space being utilized for its intended purpose and to contribute to the local community’s pet care initiatives.
