What we did

This project presented particular restrictions due to the building being both a listed 18th Century Manor House as well as a live wedding venue. In order to keep the building functioning and minimal disruption to the day to day activities Morris & Blunt Ltd erected a full height scaffold complete with a photographic wrap to disguise the works which were taking place behind.

The works consisted the removal of damaged brickwork piers and associated debris, taking a template of the existing stonework finial to be hand carved off site ready for reinstatement and repairs to both the flat roof and slate roof area. Internally tower scaffolds were erected to carry out essential repair works to existing ceilings and walls. These received full repairs and redecoration works.

To enable the safe installation of the new stonework finial a bespoke mechanical lifting hoist was installed and used to lift the finial which weighed nearly 300kg, into its final position.

In order for us to successfully deliver this project we worked very closely with the venues operations team to programme works around any bookings/events which were taking place whilst implementing Morris & Blunt Ltd. strict health and safety policy.
