Were excited to announce the completion of our refurbishment project at Loddon Primary School. We've transformed previous classroom spaces and WC facilities into a fully accessible special educational need (SEN) unit with colour - coordinated doors for easy understanding of the access zones for the children. A special shoutout goes to our carpenter, Ryan, a former student of Loddon Primary School. It’s been wonderful to see him lead this project, creating a space where students can thrive. Great job, Ryan and the team!

Last week, we had a blast at our "M+B on the Tracks" night! Our team headed to TeamSport Go Karting in Reading for some fun and friendly competition on the track. It was a fantastic evening filled with laughs and exciting races!

London Moonwalk

London Moonwalk

Last weekend our Office Manager Rachel completed the 2024 London Moonwalk. Taking in some of London's landmarks illuminated in Pink, Rachel completed the 26.2-mile distance throughout the night in a time of 8 hours and 4 minutes. Rasing money for Breast Cancer Awareness we are super proud of her efforts! Great Job.

We're thrilled to be chosen for the Hopgarden Boarding House refurbishment project at Eton College. This primarily internal renovation will transform an existing triple-height atrium and create a new ground floor games room opening onto an external courtyard. Featuring bespoke joinery throughout, we can't wait to see this project come to life.

As an office team we are participating in “wear it green day” on Thursday 16th May. Let’s continue this dialogue and make mental health a year-round priority. Offsite Construction

Our new Pavilion at Locks Ride Recreation Ground is an eagerly anticipated project for Winkfield Parish Council. Despite some weather-related delays earlier this year, we’re happy to report that the groundwork, water drainage systems and substructure is now complete ready for installation of the SIP’s. The use of 175mm structural insulated panels (SIPs) installed by SBUK will facilitate a faster build, ensuring both speed and quality in the construction process. The panels are used for the walls and roof, creating a seamless and highly efficient structure. Despite the challenges, the project is now back on schedule and progressing visibly. We greatly look forward to seeing the community benefit from this valuable and modern facility once complete.

Meet our team – Deborah Wakley

An ARB chartered Architect who worked in private practice for over 20 years and joined the team in late 2022 to oversee design and build projects in the offices. Deborah has a vast experience of design and detailing innovating projects across a broad range of sectors, notably in education, hotels and residential schemes. From taking complex briefs and producing imaginative designs she often takes a project through from concept to completion. She deals with technical issues across the board from planning to on-site detailing and has extensive knowledge of historic and listed buildings. She ensures quality standards are maintained whilst also exploring new technologies and pushing boundaries in terms of sustainability and modern methods of construction.

Supporting Reading Borough Council we look forward to delivering this scheme to improve social housing within our local community which is due for completion in Spring 25.

Great to see that works are now complete at our project in Toutley Industrial Estate for Welfaux Materials Handling. Undertaken in a phased manner to keep the existing workshop operational, two new extensions were formed to provide additional workshop and welding facilities together with external concrete hardstanding’s.

Grand Opening of Pamber Heath War Memorial Hall

We were proud to be invited to attend the grand opening of our £1.3m refurbishment to Pamber Heath War Memorial Hall. The event had a celebratory atmosphere with many past members of the parish council, hall committee and preschool organisations alongside the mayor and local MPs as they unveiled a plaque dedicating the building to the local people of the parish and to those listed on the two roles of honour. The upgraded building which includes the addition of a purpose-built nursery, serve the local community and the hall facilities already used by numerous clubs and societies has seen an increase in demand since the renovations have been completed. A great success for all those who worked hard to bring this scheme to fruition.

We are excited to be appointed to undertake the construction of Eton Fives Courts at Holyport College. Eton Fives is a sport developed in the late 19th century at Eton College. The shape of the court used now is taken from the chapel at Eton College where A. C. Ainger and some of his friends developed a simple set of rules in 1877. We look forward to building such a historic structure that are limited in the UK.

We have been appointed to convert the existing bursary building into new teaching spaces along with converting an existing classroom block to create new science laboratory facilities. With works anticipated to be completed for the new School year we look forward to seeing this one progress.
