What we did

Works were undertaken during the University’s busy exam period, so it was paramount the works were programmed to successfully cause no disruption to a live campus.

Internal blockwork walls and the existing MF ceiling were carefully demolished, in order to adapt the existing layout of the rooms on first floor level. A new office space was then created via the construction of bespoke glazed partitions and door sets. The new office space and meeting room received a new suspended ceiling to house LED panelled skylights.

The rooms were redecorated with newly exposed steel beams receiving fire protective coatings and becoming feature points in the rooms. Obscure window film and new floor coverings were installed throughout.

Electrical works included new power distribution, data points, lighting, ventilation and adjustments to the existing fire alarm system.

With works being undertaken during the University’s exam period, meticulous planning and regular liaison meetings were held between Morris & Blunt Ltd and the University to ensure the successful delivery and completion of each phase whilst implementing Morris & Blunt Ltd strict health and safety policy.
