What we did

The project consisted of the construction of a new sports hall with School meal kitchen facilities, offices, WCs together with the refurbishment and alteration of existing classrooms in the “roll-along” building and existing school kitchen and dining hall. Associated external works including the construction of a new car park.

The new 400m2 hall extension which was registered under the Considerate Constructor’s scheme was undertaken during term time, with refurbishment and alteration works of the existing school being programmed in phased completions.

The new build has traditional strip foundations with suspended beam and block flooring, a structural steel portal frame, brickwork and blockwork cavity construction with sections of rendered walls, bespoke Marley cladding panels, Bailey recessed rainwater system, Kalzip roof decking system, and a single ply membrane roof. External window and door sets were installed together with a Halo brise soleil system.

Internal installations included a new state of the art school meals kitchen, kitchen servery and roller shutter, school meals office and changing room areas, male, female and accessible WCs, sports hall, storage cupboards, vinyl floor coverings, entrance matting, acoustic wall panels, suspended ceilings, automated window blinds and full decorations.

New mechanical and electrical systems were installed including a new underfloor heating system, ventilation, lighting, power, data, fire alarm, and intruder alarm works.
