What we did

This project included forming a large structural opening using needle props as a method of structural propping as the opening was formed. Strictly, in accordance with the structural engineers’ calculations and drawings. Once this was achieved, all existing walls, including the newly formed openings were made good and plastered ready to receive new decoration finishes. A new suspended ceiling system was installed to alter the original ceiling heights of the room.

As well as the provision of new energy efficient LED lighting, air conditioning units and a new fire alarm system incorporated into this.

Where a newly created viewing platform was constructed, this was fitted with bespoke handrails to ensure the safety for viewing purposes. The new open space was then decorated to the client’s specifications.

This work was carried out during term time, so works were managed and organised to cause as little disruption as possible to the School’s day to day activities.
