What we did

The project involved the stripping back and removal of vegetation and soil on an otherwise dilapidated area, ready to make way for the construction of a new purpose-built steel portal frame warehouse unit. A new ground floor slab foundation was poured  ready for the installation of new steelwork, a composite roof and cladding panels, and a new security roller shutter door. The new steel frame warehouse unit features all the necessary facilities for the council’s grounds team at Down Grange, including security access controls, an internal mess area, and a new external carpark area.

External works have also supplemented the new building to complement the new facilities; the building carpark areas, both new and old, received new palisade security fencing, as well as both log and brick retaining walls around the structure to help maintain the aesthetic of the adjacent embankment.

Elsewhere within Down Grange, a new car park has been constructed to the benefit of both on-site staff as well as the public. This was formed via excavation of the existing ground, installation of new curb edgings, subbase and installation of a tarmac macadam course. Both car park surfaces then received new white line-markings.
