As a company, Morris & Blunt Ltd take our corporate social responsibility seriously and are keen to give back to the community that has supported our business over many years.
We also contribute to and support many local charitable organisations throughout Reading and Berkshire. Some of our staff have been actively involved in charitable causes and we encourage and support their continued efforts.
Charity Work – Lions Club of Reading
Morris & Blunt Ltd have been actively supporting the Lions Club of Reading for the past 4 years with the main aim to promote the health and wellbeing of the Reading community by improving the local environment, helping individuals in times of need, supporting Reading-based community groups and local charities. Their aim is to help serve the people of Reading and make a difference.
Sponsorships have included a gruelling climb to the summit of Mount Killimanjaro which was undertaken by Company Directors, Melvin Blunt & Andrew Goodchild to raise awareness for prostate cancer. Each year Reading Lions club hold a free prostrate cancer awareness event and offer free prostrate cancer PSA tests to men over 50 in the Reading area.

Charity Work – Mind
Another charity which we are actively supporting is that of Mind, the mental health charity.
These guys do an amazing job, providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
Sponsorships have included a Thames Path 100km Challenge which was most recently undertaken by our Construction Manager, Steve Manstone. Steve and his team successfully completed this challenge, walking from Fulham to Henley covering the distance of two and a half marathons in 26 hours, raising over £3,800.00 in the process.

Bracknell Bees Ice Hockey
Morris & Blunt Ltd are an active sponsor of The Bracknell Bees. The Bees are Berkshire’s Premier Ice Hockey Team icing in the EIHA Top League NIHL1. Bees play their home games from September – April at “The Hive” which is the affectionate nickname for the John Nike Leisuresport Complex, a 2400 seat Ice Arena which hosts Ice Hockey, Ice Skating, Public Sessions and more.
Sponsorship helps support The Bracknell Bees new Schools Programme designed to give back to School Communities. These include School assembly visits on a range of topics from Ice Hockey itself to fitness, health, healthy eating or a theme that relates to ice hockey (respect for example), complimentary tickets to the School zone and free skating after Saturday Schools Programme Matches.
